The Best Divorce Lawyers Are Resourceful And Personable – A Personal Account

By Janet Tirazzo

When I realized that I was trapped in a marriage that could not be salvaged, the unavoidable truth surfaced: I needed a divorce and thought about Florida uncontested divorce and was amazed with how the New York divorce lawyer of my friend handled their case. Coming to this decision was not as easy as deciding on getting something for myself like a personal injury protection for smooth personal injury settlements if even me or anyone in my family gets hurt due to an accident.  It was not on the agenda at any point in time, but being an adult meant making the most responsible choice possible. Since we have children together, the right moves for us had to be well thought out. I even thought about how much the divorce costs and thought about getting free divorce forms.

I even thought about getting a mediation lawyer. I heard few good mediation lawyers are in my area and thought about using one. But one of the first things I did was find one of the best divorce lawyers in my area who was known for protecting the rights of all involved and know best ways on how to file for divorce.  A friend of mine used his firm and told me that she was pleasantly surprised at the level of privacy and respect she received. Although I hadn’t heard of him at that point because he wasn’t heavily advertised like an eviction lawyer, paternity lawyer and work injury lawyers I know, I trusted the method of word-of-mouth.  I certainly didn’t expect the divorce process to be easy, much less positive, but I was proven wrong. He guided me all the way, from filling out the divorce papers online which was really a great help for us because it made the divorce procedures a little costly and stressful.

Believe it or not, I genuinely believe that the attorney I hired sincerely cared about me and my children. It is so easy to fall into the trap of believing that all lawyers are cut throat and that they have tunnel vision; earning a ton of money does that to many people. The first thing he wanted to make sure of is that the divorce is really the best solution for us.

During consultation, he questioned me about the relationship to get a feel of the right road to take.   It made me feel more confident about my decision and helped me have more faith in his abilities. He then proceeded to advise me on things I hadn’t even thought of.    Only the best divorce lawyers or top divorce lawyers are willing to take the time to ensure all bases are covered. For instance, I went through my social networking profiles and began regulating the content and pictures so that nothing could possibly be used against me in court. My ex-husband would stop at nothing, so my attorney also suggested that I limit our conversations with him to only regard the divorce.  We even went through the possibility of an annulment – I wasn’t aware that many divorce attorneys also are adept annulment lawyers as well.  It felt so good to know that everything was being taken care of.

Anything regarding the children would be in the papers, so no further negotiations or communications were recommended. It felt great to have someone in my corner.  Neither I nor my attorney expected for the case to drag on the way it did. My ex-husband brought in witnesses and fabricated stories.

It took a long time to get through the witnesses because one by one they were discredited. My lawyer didn’t have any notice to research these individuals, but somehow he was able to prove during cross-examination that they were not relevant people to the case. It was at that point that I was realized how lucky I was to have found one of the best divorce lawyers around. I have heard so many horror stories about lawyers that didn’t practice with a passion and only cared about the bottom line. I even heard about a child molestation lawyer who collected a great amount of fee but hasn’t done good for the case. I am very grateful that my attorney went above and beyond merely drawing up papers.
